Pumpkin Harvest Mantle
There’s nothing like a festive hearth to get you into the autumnal mood! This one captures so many fun memories we have as a family heading to the pumpkin patch and picking way more pumpkins than we actually need. Also, I bet you have almost everything you need to pull this together (okay maybe not the faux persimmons - but that’s what Amazon’s for).
For the pumpkin sign, simple take a galvanized bucket (I’m sure you’ve got one in the garage or backyard) and freehand paint a sign on the back. If you want to get fancy, you could cut letters with a vinyl cutter or purchase adhesive letters, but I think the naturalness of hand painting is perfect for this. If you don’t have a large bucket, use a basket, hamper, or tray. If you don’t want to paint directly onto it, paint on a piece of board and attach it.
For the “Oops, I just spilled my pumpkins", get a basket, lay it on it’s side and position a throw or blanket coming out drapped on the mantel. Then position your pumpkins one by one. If you’re using real pumpkins the weight holds them in place. If you choose faux, you may need to strategically place tape to secure them.
For the “just clipped branch of persimmons”, I took faux persimmons, threaded them with floral wire and hung them on a branch I grabbed from the back yard. Put the branch into a vase so it frames the sign. If you need extra height, just use my favorite trick - a stack of books.
Scatter a few more mini pumpkins and persimmons here and there, and you have a festive pumpkin harvest masterpiece!
