Pallet Wall Monogram

A great piece for the front of a lake house or a cool way to customize a kid's room, my pallet wall monogram is easy (and cheap!) to make.MATERIALSDiscarded wood palletPre-cut lettersSpray paintWood stainGlue gunScrew gunSawFrame (Optional)STEPSTake your good ol' standard wood pallet (you can find them behind grocery stores and at construction sites for free) and remove the boards and nails. Arrange boards to the desired width being careful to put the nicer side down.  Take an extra board, cut it in half and screw the two pieces to the back of the boards as shown. Take your pre-made letters and spray paint them the desired color. To antique your letters, dilute the wood stain to one part stain and one part water and wipe onto the painted letters with a paper towel or brush.  Wipe off excess immediately.   Next, take a paint brush, dip the tip into the diluted stain and, with the flick of your wrist, spray the letter with a few stain spots.  Let dry. Attach letters with a hot glue gun.   Here's a version I did for Coco using a picture frame that I painted and antiqued to match the letter.  To be able to change the photo, attach the frame using a nail and the hanging hardware on the back of the frame.
