Wired Hair Bands
As a dad I'm always trying to find easy ways to keep my girls hair under control in a stylish way. These wire hair bands do just the trick, so easy to put on the girls can do it themselves and they cost almost nothing to make!
MATERIALS
Fabric scrap (aprox. 3" x 32" long)
Bailing wire
Sewing machine
STEPS
Cut a piece of fabric long enough to wrap around the head plus an additional 6" (for Coco, this was 32" long) and approximately 3" wide.
Fold it in half so the long ends meet, right side together, and then again so the short ends meet. Cut the end into a curve.
Unfold so it's just folded the long way and run it through the sewing machine stitching the long edge together, but leaving 3" in the center unstitched.
Turn right side out through the unstitched part. Nows a good time to give it a quick ironing.
Cut a piece of wire the same length as the hair band. Bend the last inch or so of the wire on each end so you have a loop instead of a sharp point. You can also add a drop of hot glue on the end once it's bent to make sure.
Slip the wire inside the hair band and sew up the remaining opening.
