Felt Hearts
These simple felt hearts are great for some many uses, you can make a whole basket of them by sewing two straight lines, making them a great starter sewing project for kids. MATERIALS- Felt (spend the extra 2 bucks and get the nice heavy felt, it makes a big difference)- Sewing machine- Scissors STEPS Cut two rectangles from your felt. Lay them on top of each other and sew a seam along one long edge. Flip the rectangles so that the seam you just made is on the inside of the two rectangles and sew another seam down the other long edge. Now that you've got your heart, just take a pair of scissors and cut crosswise down the tube - like your slicing pre-made cookie dough....yeah, I thought you would get that. Now you've got your hearts! What you do with them is up to you of course. I threaded some of mine onto yarn and alternated them with pompoms to make a garland. Glueing them onto cards for Valentines Day is another no brainer. Try adding them to napkin rings or pinning them to a lapel or hat.....the options are endless!!!
