Bushel Wreath

Spring is in the air!  I wanted to find a new way to welcome spring at our house, so pulled together this bushel "wreath".

Materials:
- Bushel (you can find these at craft stores for about $5.00)
- 3-4 stems of longer bendable silk flowers (lilac, golden rod, and sweat pea work well.)
- 3 stems of smaller flowers
- Bird's nest, bird, eggs
- Moss
- A couple of twigs or small branches
- Floral wire

Steps:

Take 2 or 3 pieces of your longer, bendable stems and curve them to match the curve of the basket.  These should reach from the bottom center, up one side, almost to the top of the basket. I used a lilac with one large and two small heads on it and a golden rod branch.Once you've got it in place, clip off any extra stems and secure to the bottom front edge of the basket with floral wire.Now do the same thing on the other side of the basket, but only use a single branch. I used sweet pea to pick up the purple of the lilac.  Have this stem only go up about two thirds of the way.  Clip the stem and slip in into the same wire holding the others.Take 2 stems of the smaller flowers (I used cornflowers and pansies) and clip to make sure that they will fit vertically inside the basket.  Bend the stems and slip them underneath one of the basket rungs to hold into place.Using a glue gun, add moss inside the basket to cover your stems and wire and go partially up the back and over the front rim.Take your bird's nest, add a bit of moss, your eggs and bird.  Secure everything with a touch of hot glue.Nestle the nest in place.  Take your last small flowers and poke a few of the flower heads and leaves around the front edge of the nest.  Break a few or your twigs and branches and stick them in here and there to give it a natural appearance.  I bent one on the inside so it curved up and around and another coming out from underneath the nest.Voila!
