Dripping Candle Plank

These DIY candles have been a staple of the halloween community for a while.  They look good as individual candles, but I think in mass they go to a whole new level.  There are several ways to make them, this is the method that our Art Director, Dave Lowe, taught me.

STEPS

Cut the pipe into varying lengths with different angles at the top

Hold your glue gun at one point along the edge of a piece of pipe and dispense enough glue that it starts to drip down the side. When you're happy with that drip, go along the edge a bit and create another drip, continue around the entire pipe.  Let the glue cool.

Spray paint the candle white.  While your at it, spray paint your piece of wood too.

Cut a piece of foam to fill up the inside of the pipe, leaving enough space at the top to nestle in a tea light.

Use hot glue to attach the candles to your board.  I liked to create little clusters, with some depth and some spaces to make it look very organic.

Once your done, add your battery operated tea lights, step back and look at the magic!
