The 30 Minute Circles Coffee Table

Beautiful materials are beautiful materials, no matter what form they come in.  So why not take one form and make it into another?  That's what I do this week on Home Made Simple.  The challenge was to create a statement coffee table that would stand up to wear and tear... and do it on a budget.  My answer: maple cutting boards!  I found, on sale mind you (!), these circular boards that came packaged as a set of three: small, medium and large. I snatched up 4 sets and the rest was easy.  Lay them out, face down, in the shape you desire so that their sides touch.  Attach them to each other with angle brackets.  Add pre-fab legs.  Done!  The table looks like it's from a high design store and is incredibly durable.  Just don't chop vegetables on it, you wouldn't want any knife marks.
