Shirt Wine Sleeves
The holidays are almost upon and with it comes the time for hostess gifts - as my mother impressed upon me - never show up empty handed. So instead of showing up with the ubiquitous bottle of wine in a paper gift bag, why not dress up the whole affair....while thinning out your closet at the same time.
MATERIALS
Dress shirt (I love a French cuff shirt for this, but any will do)
Needle and thread or sewing machine
Cufflink (if using a French cuff shirt)
STEPS
Lay out your shirt and measure up 14"from the cuff. Cut with a pair of scissors.
Turn the sleeve inside out and sew a seam across the bottom.
Turn it back right side out, add your bottle of wine and close with the button or cufflink!
There are lots of variations you can do as well - fun summer versions from gingham or linen shirts. Attach cool buttons over the shirt buttons. Tuxedo shirts used for champagne.
Never give a boring bottle of wine again!
