Reclaiming Lost Space

I know all too well the struggle of finding enough space for your growing family.  With three kids now, we're always looking at our house thinking how best to reconfigure it for our growing family and where we can grab some extra space....convert the garage? build out over the breakfast room? convert the attic?  You know the conversations.  Well, in this week's Home Made Simple I get to work with a kindred spirit and actually make some of those conversations come to life.  The King family has three young children, a great old home, a home run music business.....and the need for more space.  Luckily for them there's a safety hazzard of a back porch (no railing, splintered floor boards...you know the type) that serves as little more than a home for their barbecue .  Also, did I mention she was southern...did  you know I was southern...well.....two southerners and am empty slate of a back porch....when I finished, you could sit there, sip lemonade on the floating day bed, listen to the whir of the ceiling fan and swear you were in Savannah.  Tune in this Saturday morning, Dec 7th, 9a/8c, on the Oprah Winfrey Network to watch the transformation.  There are lots of great ideas that anyone can use - painting a deck, antiquing a table, and making hanging planters to name a few!
