New Life for Old School Embroidery Hoops

Call me weird, but I've always had a thing for embroidery hoops.  They really are beautiful.  Soft, light colored wood, bent into a graceful circle, held in place with a tiny piece of immaculate hardware - what's not to love!  So, when asked to design some accessories for the premiere episode of the new season of Home Made Simple on OWN, I decided that it was time to celebrate my love and show that those old hoops that grandma used can become the base for some really cool, modern accessories.My first project with them was to create some pendant lighting for a gazebo that we were using for a wedding vow renewal ceremony.  I grabbed some hoops, a few cylinder shades and a healthy dose of hot glue - and presto chango, you've got something that looks like it belongs in some fancy restaurant.Second up were the floral arrangements for the ceremony.  Not one willing to part with my money quickly, I didn't want to spend buckets on huge store bought flower arrangements.  So, a few choice stems...a few choice embroidery hoops as a foundatiion...and, dare I say it, presto chango, totally glamorous flower arrangements that cost about $10.00.I think my grandmother would be proud!Get full details on how to make both projects at www.HomeMadeSimple.com!
