Give Thanks Door Tags
I love finding fun things for the front door that aren't wreaths. These wood tags can be made with no real tools and can do double duty for Christmas as well.
MATERIALS
1 Sheet of foam core
Plywood veneer (check you local hardware store or any place that specializes in plywood)
Rope
Paint
Spray glue
Utility knife
STEPS
Create the tag shape. Cut two rectangles of foam core and then use a plastic cup to get the center round shape and a paint can (or sauce pan) to get the two rounded corners next to it. Cut out the curves with a utility knife.
Use spray glue to glue the foam core tags to the plywood veneer. Once glued, use the utility knife to cut away the excess so you have nice clean edges. Set something heavy on it while they dry since the veneer usually has a curve to it and will want to peel up.
Use a quarter to draw a circle at the top of your tag. Cut through the veneer and the foam core to make a hole.
Using a pencil, lightly draw some guidelines and then write out your message. Go over the pencil lines with your paint.
Slip your rope through the holes and secure in place with a nice hefty knot.
....and hang!
