Forcing Paperwhite Bulbs

The smell of paperwhites means Christmas to me and I recently shared on Hallmark's Home & Family how to force them yourself. Forcing these usually spring blooming bulbs for the holidays is an age old tradition which is very easy to do at home.  All you need are paperwhite bulbs (also called narcissus), a watertight container, and pepples, rocks, or marbles.Simple fill your container with the rocks, nestle the bulbs in, growing tip up, and rill the container with water to just below the bottom of the bulb.  Look for interesting, unique containers and make sure you nestle the bulbs in tightly - the more the better for a good show of blooms.Sit back and in 2 to 4 weeks you'll have an amazing display of flowers!
