Who doesn’t love a little over the top girly every now and then?! I can’t think of a more perfect place to indulge the whim than in a lampshade. Great for a powder room, a little girl’s bedroom, or a weekend cottage. Plus there’s the added advantage of being able to salvage a trashed lampshade!
– Lamp shade
– Silk flowers
– Glue gun
Okay, this isn’t really rocket science. Take the flower heads off of the stems, add hot glue, and attach to the lamp shade – that’s pretty much it. A few pointers though:
– Get as realistic flowers as you can, it makes a big difference
– If you’re going after a solid color lamps shade, like the pink one I did, use flowers that incorporate other colors as well. The odd dark pink bud or full bloom tinged with green will add depth.
– Don’t feel you need to do the entire shade if that’s a little too much for you. A few well placed blooms and some green leaves is elegant and understated.
