The Raven Entry

Creating the Edgar Allen Poe entry for our Home & Family house on the Hallmark Channel was fun, inexpensive and very easy to do.  Let me take you through two of the key elements that you may want to do at home.  Also, you can find the three templates used in the project at the bottom of the blog.

GLOW IN THE DARK RAVEN MIRROR

Materials

– Mirror

– Contact paper

– Raven template (you can find that below)

– Glow in the dark spray paint

– Masking tape

Steps

– Print out Raven Template found below

– Trace image onto contact paper

– Cut out raven from contact paper and adhere to mirror

– Use masking tape to mask the edges of the mirror to protect it from the paint

– Lightly spray several coats of the spray paint over mirror and raven

– When dry, peel off raven

– Hang somewhere it will get plenty of daylight so it will glow at night or add a black light bulb to a nearby light fixture

VELLUM WRAPPED HURRICANES

Materials

– Vellum (available at any stationary or craft store)

– Templates (found below)

– Glass hurricane, vase or glass with straight sides

– Candle

Steps

– Print out templates below onto vellum sheets on your home computer

– Trim to height and width of your glass vessel

– Wrap and secure with scotch tape

– Insert candle into glass
