Space in a home office is always a challenge. One always has to give up something in order to get something else. One thing that usual gets the axe early on is any extra seating. That really is a shame since wouldn’t it be nice if that temporarily abandoned spouse or child could come in and hang out while you finished up the bills….or perhaps having an alternative to that uncomfortable office chair to sort through all the junk mail or get caught up on email.
Well, I’m here to say you can have your cake and eat it to. In Saturday’s episode of Home Made Simple on OWN, I tackle the problem by taking an existing lateral file, building two boxes the same height and depth, and adding a cushion on top. It looks completely custom, cost barely anything, and gives the hubby a place to snooze (I mean read the paper), while you get real work done.
